In a stunning development, the Los Angeles Dodgers super star left fielder Manny Ramirez has been suspended for 50 games for violating the leagues drug policy. Ramirez issued a statement early Thursday morning, ''Recently, I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was OK to give me," Ramirez said in a statement issued by the players' union. Ramierez goes on to say, "Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I've taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons." Ramirez had been one of the hottest hitters in the league while boasting a .350 average with 6HR and 20RBI's. This will be a huge loss for the Dodgers who started off with a major league best record of 21-8 and a 13-0 start at home.
